Ding Ning shows Chinese predominance and wins Wolkswagen World Cup 2011 after defeating her  fellow countrywoman Li Xiaoxia by 4:1. Ding Ning, current world champion, repeated the same achievement made by living legends Wang Nan and Zhang Yining and got the World championship and cup in a year.

Semifinals

Li Xiaoxia 4-2 Tie Yana

In the first match of semifinals, Li Xiaoxia clashed with Tie Yana of Hong Kong. Tie won the first game by 11:6. Then, Li Xiaoxia struggled and took the second game by 12:10. The third game was close but the player of Hong Kong got it by 11:9. In the fourth game, Li Xiaoxia came back into the match and won by 11:7. Then, Tie had a recovery but it wasn't enough because Chinese player took the game away by 12:10. In the sixth game, Li Xiaoxia displayed a great performance and sealed her victory by an overwhelming 11:1.

Ding Ning 4-1 Feng Tianwei

In the second match, Ding Ning faced Singaporean Feng Tianwei. In the first game, Feng put Ding Ning under pressure with her attacks and won by 11:7. Then, both players played long rallies but Chinese player took the second game by 11:9. In the third game, Singaporean player came back to the table with the support of her crowd but it wasn't enough because Ding Ning won the game by 11:4. Then, Ding Ning showed of what she's made and took the next two games by 11:6 and 11:4.

Final

Ding Ning 4-1 Li Xiaoxia

May be this was the most expected match of the tournament because finally, the world champion will face world ranking number one player. Ding Ning didn't have big problems to win the first two games by 11:9 and 11:5. However, Li Xiaoxia fought back and took the next game by 11:7. The fourth game was close but the world champion got it by 12:10. Li Xiaoxia didn't give up but Ding Ning won the fifth game by 11:9 and secured the second title most important of her career.

This is the fourth time that these players meet this year  in ITTF events. The first time was in the semifinals of the English Open, where Ding Ning beat Li Xiaoxia by 4:3. Then, they clashed again in semifinals in Doha, where Ding emerged successfully again. The third time was in the final of the World Championship in Rotterdarm, where Ding overcame Li by 4:2 and made her superiority over her fellow countrywomen clear.
