German dream is over at the Pro Tour Grand Final after its stars failed to progress to the next round in the first day of competition. Dimitrij Ovtcharov fell against Ryu Seung Min, while Jiaduo Wu couldn't repeat success reached in the Women's World Cup in Singapore and lost against Kasumi Ishikawa.

Dimitrij Ovtcharov, known as Dima in Germany, was expected to challenge Chinese players in this tournament but Korean Ryu Seung Min destroyed any German hope after beating him by 4:1. After the match, the German player recognized that he didn't play well and that Ruy is a strong player that always makes him feel uncomfortable at the table.  Ovtcharov added that he made mistakes that usually he doesn't and he's felt tired and a little burnt-out. Dima remarked that he needs an intensive training during a long time.

German coach Jorg Rosskopf confirmed Ovtcharov's words and said that the German player did what he could against Ryu. Besides, he is mentally tired. The reason is because he has spend more time in tournaments than training.

Jiaduo Wu was the favorite for winning the match against Kasumi Ishikawa because Wu defeated her in the recently World Cup in Singapore. However, things changed and Ishikawa stood victorious by 4:1 this time. After the match, Wu said that Kasumi changed her tactics this time. The German recognized that she didn't play well and made many mistakes.

Women's German coach Jorg Bitzigeio said that Ishikawa played good and tactically better than in Singapur. But he thinks it's was good to know place that will host the Olympic Games.
