The Women's Doubles of the Harmony 2011 China Open in Suzhou had their quarterfinal rounds today. The top seeds all come from China. They are Guo Yan / Guo Yue and Ding Ning and Li Xiaoxia who sealed their places in the semifinals very smoothly. The first seeded Chinese pair faced their compatriot Fan Ying and Wen Jia while the second seed had Lee Ho Ching and Ng Wing Nam. The two seeded Japanese pairs had their face off in the round. After seven sets, Fukuhara and Ishikawa prevailed along with the challengers from Korea, Park Mi Young and Seo Hyo Won.

Guo Yan / Guo Yue (CHN) 4-1 Fan Ying / Wen Jia (CHN)

The first seeds in the Women's Doubles event are Guo Yan and Guo Yue. In the quarterfianls, they faced their compatriots Fan Ying and Wen Jia. The under ranked pair quickly got into the rythm and posted an 11-6. However, the two Guo's reversed the score to their advantage in the second set. After which, Guo Yan and Guo Yue gained their momentum and nailed an impressive 11-4. Thefirst seed, then ,went straight to the fnish line with 12-10 and 11-9.

Lee Ho Ching / Ng Wing Nam (HKG) 0-4 Ding Ning / Li Xiaoxia (CHN)

The Chinese pair of Ding Ning and Li Xiaoxia are the second seeds in the Women's Doubles. In the quarterfinals, they faced Hong Kong challenger Lee Ho Ching and Ng Wing Nam. This time, Ding Ning and Li Xiaoxia gained the first advanatge with 11-7. In the second set, the Hong Kong pair was expected to fight back but the Chinese were just too strong to handle. Ding and Li nailed an impressive 11-4 in two consecutive sets. In the fourth game, Lee Ho Ching and Ng Wing Nam totally lost in 6-11 giving the semifinal place for Ding Ning and Li Xiaoxia.

Cheng I Ching / Huang Yi Hua (TPE) 2-4 Park Mi Young / Seo Hyo Won (KOR)

The fifth seeds in the event are Cheng I Ching and Huang Yi Hua of Taipei. In the quarterfinals, they met Park Mi Young and Seo Hyo Won of Korea. At the start, the pair from Taipei was in good control and was first to reach 2-0 with 11-7 and 12-10. However, the Korean tandem was able to recover and posted 11-8 and 11-7, leveling in 2-2. After which, Cheng and Huang tried to catch up but the control was still in the hands of the Korean paddlers. Park and Seo nailed 11-9 and 11-6, completing their win in the quarterfinals.

Hiroko Fujii / Misako Wakamiya (JPN) 3-4 Ai Fukuhara / Kasumi Ishikawa (JPN)

The fourth quarterfinal round was between the third seeds Hiroko Fujii / Misako Wakamiya and the sixth seeds Ai Fukuhara/Kasumi Ishikawa all from Japan. As expected, the two pairs fought very strong and eventually reached a full seven set match. After the tie in 3-3, the lower seeds Ai Fukuhara and Kasumi Ishikawa prevailed and will have a place in the semifinals.
