The fifth seed and the highest ranked European in the tournament Vladimir Samsonov also displayed a wonderful performance and swept Andrej Gacina, seeded in 32nd from Croatia.

The eighth seed Chuang Chih Yuan of Chinese Taipei crushed the Japanese qualifier Kenji Matsudaira while Gao Ning posted 4-2 against Adrian Crisan of Romania. These two paddlers completed the list of victorious players who will advanace further into the competition.
