World Tour Grand Finals: Franziska and Ishikawa in U21 semifinals! (VIDEOS)

After a long day, semifinalists of the U21 at the 2012 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals are defined. Germany's Patrick Franziska and Korea's Jung Youngsik emerged successfully in their groups and progressed to semifinals. In the girls' competition, Kasumi Ishikawa and Jihee Jeon got the first place in the group phase. 

Players of the U21 event had a hard day at the 2012 ITTF Grand Finals. In the first day, players played all the matches of the group phase to define semifinalists. Korea's Jung Youngsik won the group A after beaing Japan's Yuto Muramatsu by 4:3 and Singapore's Chen Feng by 4:1. The second place went to Muramatsu who defetaed Taipei's Chen Chien-An and Chen Feng by 4:1. 

In the group B, Patrick Franziska remained unbeaten and got the first place. The German player stood victorious over Noshad Alamiyan by 4:3, Simon Gauzy by 4:0 and Kristian Karlsson by 4:0. Alamiyan got the second place as he overcame Gauzy and Karlsson by 4:2.

In the girls event, Kasumi Ishikawa stood victorious in the group A. The Japanese player overcame Yang Haeun  and Sabine Winter by 4:0 but she fell against Taipei's Chen Szu-Yu by 4:2. Chen stayed in the second place as she beat Ishikawa and Winter by 4-1. 

Jeon Jihee won the group B as she emerged successfully over Cheng I-Ching by 4:3, Lee Hi Ching by 4:1 and Misaki Morizono by 4:1. The second place went to Cheng after beating Lee by 4:1 and Morizono by 4:2.
