Following the absence of Guo Yue in the first two stations in this year's World Tour season, the Beijing Olympic Team champion also missed to be shortlisted for the Asian Championships in Macau. With the series of absences and replacements for Guo Yue, table tennis fans became intrigued with the meaning of her continuous absence from the arena, especially now that the Olympics getting nearer.

In the 2012 Hungary and Slovenia Open, Guo Yue was replaced by the Chinese chopper Wu Yang. In the upcoming Asian Championships in Macau, Guo Yue remained to be invisible in the arena making her chances for the London Olympics much slimmer.

When the Chinese sisters Wang Nan and Zhang Yining left the National Team, Guo Yue became the most senior in terms of experiences among the rest of the players. Guo Yue became famous very early. In 2004, Guo Yue was one of the main players for the World Team Championships and also participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Such record is distinguishable against Guo Yan, Li Xiaoxia, Ding Ning and Liu Shiwen.

However, after which, Guo Yue failed to seize her opportunities and did not make brilliant performances in the Singles arena for the past two years. In 2010 to 2011, Guo Yue failed in four foreign matches. While Guo Yue was having trouble, Ding Ning, Li Xiaoxia, Guo Yan and Liu Shiwen were slowly becoming a new force in the Chinese Team.

Since a new year in table tennis was ushered, Guo Yue has already missed the 2012 Hungary and Slovenia Open. Moreover, when the Asian Table Tennis Union announced the list of participants for the forthcoming Asian Championships, Guo Yue's name is still missing as the chopper Wu Yang made it to the list.

With this successive absences and the active participation of Ding Ning, Li Xiaoxia, Guo Yan, Liu Shiwen and Wu Yang, Guo Yue is losing her chances to prove her potential and to regain the trust from the coaches.

Now that we are approximately six months away from the London Olympic Games, what do you think would be the impact of the continuous absence of Guo Yue from the arena to the tournament? Would she still have time to gain the trust from the coaches or it just means farewell for Guo Yue?
