China avoided Germany from capturing its first ever world team title again. Timo Boll and Co. hoped to put smiles on spectactors' faces by winning the final but the Asian team was the strongest again. However, Liu Guoling had positive words to the host team and hopes to face Germany at the Olympic Games again.

Germany was our strongest opponent and I hope that they keep improving, said the Chinese coach. On the other hand, Jorg Rosskopf remarked that they can play even better but their level was good for a world final.

Timo Boll was the first player, who jumped into the court. Boll had a chance to win the first game but he missed it and Zhang Jike took the first game. Then Zhang Jike took control of the second game and put himself 2:0. Fortunately, Timo Boll recovered and leveled the score but the world ranking n°6 made some mistakes, what meant the first defeat for Germany.

The second German player, who went the table was Dimitrij Ovtcharov. The German player was swept by Zhang Jike in the first game but he got over in the second one and managed to be 9:4 up. Ovtcharov said that he was eager to win. Then he made three mistakes with his backhand, what made him to get annoyed because his backhand had been very good during the whole tournament, narrated the young player.  In the third game, he got a game point but he missed it and lost the match eventually. Boll explained that his team mate and he need one or two games to get used to hard strokes.

Patrick Baum was the player, who met Wang Hao in the third match. Baum remarked that it's difficult to go to the table when the team is 0:2 down. He wanted to bring his team back into the game and he didn't feel nervous but he couldn't accomplish his mission and fell in four games.

Rosskopf and Liu Guoliang agreed about the three matches were close. The Chinese coach added that they felt under pressure during the match and he hopes they, China and Germany, can clash at the Olympics. The German coach also wants a final against China in London but he pointed out that they must make sure to get the second top seed in order to not face them before the final.
