The Belorussian veteran Vladimir Samsonov has been doing wonderfully in the competition posting three consecutive sweep victories. Meanwhile, the fifth seed Lee Jung Woo of South Korea was also doing his job very well. In the previous round, he defeated the second seed Dimitrij Ovtcharov. After the game resumed, Lee Jung Woo leveled in 10-10. After the tie, it was Lee Jung Woo who had the opportunities and overtook to 2-1 with 12-10.
Samsonov returned into the arena with a 5-1 lead. But just like the previous set, Lee Jung Woo managed to seal the gap in 6-6. At this point, Lee Jung Woo had the steering wheel back into his favor making it difficult for the veteran to catch up. Lee Jung Woo placed Samsonov in great danger with 3-1, 11-7.
In the fifth set, Samsonov worked his way through and leveled in 7-7. After the tie, Lee Jung Woo was distracted as Samsonov overtook to set point in 10-8. Lee Jung Woo tried to catch up but came late. Samsonov got the set with 11-9. The fourth seed from Belarus maintained his control and successfully leveled in 3-3 with 11-8.
Eventually, the battle reached the deciding set. In a crucial part of the match, the stamina of the younger player from South Korea Lee Jung Woo prevailed against the experience of of Samsonov. Lee Jung Woo sealed the match with 11-6 in the finals.
