The 2012 China Open Men Doubles reached the semifinal round of the competition today with the top seeds surviving the hurdle and earned their rightful seats in the finals.

The only non Chinese pair who reached this far in the competition is the qualifier from South Korea Kim Min Seok / Seo Hyun Deok. Although they have been strong in the previous rounds, maintaining such strength against the top seeds Ma Lin and Zhang Jike were such a hard task.
In the match, Kim Min Seok and Seo Hyun Deok had their moments especially after they took the first advantage of the game. However, such entrance did not affect the Chinese pair and eventually won the succeeding sets. After six sets, Ma Lin and Zhang Jike earned their seats in the finals with 8-11, 11-7, 18-16, 11-7, 9-11, and 11-7.

The Shanghai men and fourth seeds Wang Liqin and Xu Xin faced their teammates Ma Long and Wang Hao in the semifinals of the Men Doubles. As the home grown talent, Wang Liqin and Xu Xin were quick to post a 2-0 advantage. However, in the third set, Ma Long and Wang Hao tried so hard and won the set.
Such win eventually marked a successful recovery from the second seeds. Since the third set, control stayed with Ma Long and Wang Hao. Eventually, in six sets, Ma Long and Wang Hao made their way to the finals with 7-11, 6-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-9, and 11-8.
