Tiago Apolonia and Matilda Ekholm are the Final World Olympic Qualification Tournament's Champions after beating Spain's Carlos Machado and Czech Republik's Dana Hadacova in the final.
Probably, Apolonia had more problems than expected against Machado. The Spanish player won the first game by 11:7 but Apolonia leveled by 11:5. Since then the Portuguese player took control of the match and got the next two games by 11:9 and 11:7. However, Machado fought back and took the fifth game by 11:8. Apolonia came back into the game and closed the match by 11:7.
Matilda Ekholm also had some problems to beat Dana Hadacova. Hadacova took the lead after winning the first game by 13:11. Then Ekholm recovered and leveled by 11:8. The Swede kept her rhythm and got the next game by 11:7, 11:8 and 13:11, and captured the title.
Therefore, the men qualifiers for London are: Portugal's Tiago Apolonia, Spain's Carlos Machado, Ukraine's Oleksandr Didukh, Poland's Zeng Yi Wang, Croatia's Andrej Gacina, Turkey's Bora Bang, Denmark's Allan Bensen, Italy's Mihai Bobocica, Ukraine's Yaroslav Zhmudenko and Latvia's Mattis Burgis.
In the women event qualifiers are: Sweden's Matilda Ekholm, Czech Republik's Dana Hadacova, Spain's Sara Ramirez, Spain's Galia Dvorak, Russia's Anna Tikhomirova, Russia's Yana Noskova Hong Kong’s Lee Ho Ching and Portugal’s Lei Huang Mendes.
