Spread the love for Table Tennis!

The Chinese Olympic Table Tennis Team arrived in the Olympic Village last weekend after their adaptive training in Leeds last week. As the leader of the team, Liu Guoliang quickly felt the excitement from the atmosphere. In addition, as one of the Olympic first timers within the Chinese Team, Zhang Jike was also amazed by the Olympic Village and wanted to go shopping in the first day. Liu Guoliang admitted that the team is actually relaxing at this period but after the draw will be made, a more focused training will take place and tension will rise.

The Chinese Team arrived in London last July 17 and went to the University of Leeds for their adaptive training. After almost a week of training, the Chinese Team came closer to their Olympic expedition as they entered the Olympic Village.

The Chinese Table Tennis Team left the University of Leeds last July 22 as they proceeded to the Olympic Village. For the first night, head coach Liu Guoliang already felt the excitement. "There is good atmosphere and it is very lively." Liu Guoliang commented.

Liu Guoliang started with the food. He said that although there were no Chinese food being served in the Olympic Canteen, the food still tastes great and meeting a lot of people makes the mood even warmer. "Particularly when the team first arrived in the Olympic Village, we ate with a lot of people so the atmosphere was especially good." Liu Guoliang said.

In addition, Liu Guoliang also disclosed that among the Chinese Men Team, Ma Long is the "king eater." "I see nothing can make Ma Long hungry." Liu Guoliang smiled to the reporters.

As for the rooms, Liu Guoliang commented that they are quite small and the noise is not so good. "However since the whole team lives together, we still enjoy and we are more relaxed." Liu Guoliang said.

The current world's number one Zhang Jike is nominated for the Olympic Games for the first time and set his foot for the first time inside the Olympic Village. This Monday, after his urine test by 7am, Zhang Jike strolled around the Olympic Village. "There are a lot of good things to buy in the stores. I wanted to buy some." Zhang Jike said.

However, Zhang Jike thought that his preparation for battle was more important. He then decided to control his desire to shop before the game and wait until the end of the competition. Known as the Tibetan Mastiff, Zhang Jike has good psychological qualities. During training, Zhang Jike also demonstrated quicker reflexes.

As a first timer in the Olympics, Zhang Jike was asked what made him to be surprised in London. Zhang Jike stopped for awhile and answered: "Your Chinese is quite fluent. That makes me most surprised."

The drawing of the lots will take place by July 25. As for Liu Guoliang, he said that the team will continue with the regular training. However, when the draw is finished, the team will progress into a more focused simulation training. "We are currently more relaxed and have time for leisure. But the succeeding days will certainly be intense." Liu Guoliang concluded.
