Sweden will travel to the German city of Braunschweig to face Germany in the first leg match of the European Qualification Tournament. However, Scandinavians won't be able to count on former world champion and living legend Jorgen Persson because he got injured during the Olympic test held at the Werner Schlager Academy.

Bad news for the men Swedish team just days after its match against Germany for the European Olympic Qualification Tournament. Jorgen Persson who was training at the Werner Schlager Academy suffered an injury and was forced to withdraw from the match against Timo Boll and Co.

It seemed that Persson had some discomfort but it was nothing serious, while he was training last week. Despite that he worked in a lower intensity. However, he had a bigger discomfort during the Olympic test tournament and had to withdraw after his first match against Iran's Alamiyan Noshad. Ulf Carlsson, Swedish coach, said that the burst in the calf muscle was much serious than they thought from the beginning, after the X-ray. However, Carlsson hopes that he will play on his highest level from Monday.

Therefore, Persson will be replace by Haradl Andersson in the Swedish team already made up by Par Gerell and Jens Lundqvist.

The former world champion still has a tournament on his schedule. He will participate in the last Olympic test that will be held in Fulda in the next week. The tournament will gather players such as Timo Boll, Michael Maze, Bojan Tokic, Aleksandar Karakasevic, Vladimir Samsonov, Dimitrij Ovtcharov, among others.
