Olympic Draw: China and Germany would clash in semifinals!

ITTF has released the draw for the singles event of the Olympics which starts on Saturday. Zhang Jike is at the top of the draw and will face Jun Mizutani in semifinals, if both win their matches. Therefore, Wang Hao, second seed, will meet Timo Boll in semifinals, if they succeed in the previous rounds. In the women singles event, Korea's Kim Kyungah was drawn into Ding Ning's draw, so Kasumi Ishikawa will face Li Xiaoxia eventually. In the men team event, China and Germany would have an early encounter in semifinals, while Japan would meet South Korea.

ITTF has already published the men singles draw. Jun Mizutani was drawn into the 16th place, so he will face world champion Zhang Jike in semifinals if both players win their matches. However, Zhang Jike will have to face Vladimir Samsonov and Joo Saehhyuk in the previous rounds, while Jun Mizutani won't have an easy job against Michael Maze and Adrien Mattenet or Dimitrij Ovtcharov

German star Timo Boll will meet Wang Hao in semifinals if everything goes as expected for them. However, firstly Boll will  have to beat Tang Peng  Adrian Crisan and the winner between Russia's Alexander Shivaeb and Chinese Taipei's Chuang Chih Yuan. According to the draw, Boll has big chances of clinching an Olympic medal this time but he will have to show it at the arena. On the other hand, Wang Hao will have an early encounter with Gao Ning and will have to face then the winner between Seiya Kishikawa and Oh Sangeun.

Bad draw for Timo Boll and Co. in the team event as they were drawn into China's part of the draw and will find the reigning Olympic champion in semifinals. Therefore, South Korea and Japan would meet in the other encounter.

In the women singles event, world champion Ding Ning will meet experienced Kim Kyungah in semifinals possibly, so Li Xiaoxia will face Kasumi Ishikawa, if both win their previous encounters. Before facing Kyungah, the world champion will have to defeat Hong Kong's Jiang Huajun and the winner of the match between Li Jie and Ai Fukuhara. On the hand, Kim Kyungah will have a difficult task trying to beat Shen Yanfei from Spain and the winner between Jiaduo Wu and Feng Tianwei

In her way to semifinals, Li Xiaoxia will have to face Park Miyoung and the winner between Tie Yana and Li Jiao. Kasumi Ishikawa has chances of reaching semifinals, if she defeats Poland's Li Qian and the winner between Viktoria Pavlovich and Wang Yuegu.

In the women team event, South Korea led by Kim Kyungah was drawn into the eighth place, so they would face China in semifinals, while Japan and Singapore would clash in the other one.
