August's World Ranking list: Zhang Jike stays at the top, while Ovtcharov gets into the top ten again! (VIDEOS)

German Table Tennis Federation has confirmed that Dimitrij Ovtcharov is in the top ten again as he climbed to the ninth place due to his great performance at the Olympic Games, while Timo Boll stays in the seventh spot. This is the second time that  On the other hand, Zhang Jike also consolidated at the top of the list but still closely followed by Ma Long. In the women event, Ding Ning kept in the first place and Li Xiaoxia, Olympic champion, replaced Liu Shiwen in the second spot.

The German Table Tennis Federation overtook ITTF and announced that Dimitrij Ovtcharov reached the ninth spot in August's World Ranking list, his best ranking ever. Therefore, Germany has two players in the top ten again because Timo Boll kept in the seventh place despite his early elimination at hands of Romania's Adrian Crisan in the singles event. The last time when this happened was in December 2011 as Timo Boll was in the fourth place, while Ovtcharov in the tenth place after beating Wang Hao in the World Team Cup held in November.

Besides, Zhang Jike stays at the top of the list, although it wasn't a surprise. The Olympic champion is closely followed by Ma Long, and Xu Xin and Wang Hao appeared in the third and fourth place, respectively. Jun Mizutani remains in the fifth spot despite his defeat against Michael Maze in the round of 16. Chuang Chih-Yuan also kept in the eighth place.

Doubtless, Adrian Crisan improved his ranking and jumped from the 27th to the 22th. Portugal's Marcos Freitas was also rewarded for his victory over Joo Saehyuk in the team event and climbed from the 31th to the 24th. Croatia's Andrej Gacina also gave a big jump and moved from 58th to 35th. North Korea's Kim Hyok Bong, who beat Joo Saehyuk in the round of 32, went up from 77th to 38th. Australia's William Heinzell also saw improvements in his ranking as he climbed from 131th to 95th.

In the women's ranking list, Ding Ning remains at the top of the list but is closely followed by Li Xiaoxia, the Olympic champion, who exchanged places with Liu Shiwen. Guo Yan stays in the fourth place and Kasumi Ishikawa and Ai Fukuhara took the fifth and sixth place, respectively. Feng Tianwei moved up to the seventh place, while Kim Kyungah fell from the 8th to the 5th spot.

After her victory over Tie Yana, Elizabeta Samara climbed from the 52th to the 36th. Ariel Hsing, who lost to Li Xiaoxia in the round of 32, went up from the 115th to the 78th spot. Besides, the American player stood victorious over Luxemburg's Ni Xialian in the previous round.
