Spread the love for Table Tennis!

The Chinese Women Team stood victorious yesterday after they won the 2012 London Olympic Women Team finals against Japan. It was a glorious moment for China especially for Ding Ning who suffered a painful defeat in the Singles. After the match, Ding Ning expressed her happiness and talked about her roller coaster journey in London.

The 2012 London Olympic Women Team event was concluded yesterday in the Excel Arena with China successfully defending the Olympic championship title. Li Xioaxia, Ding Ning, and Guo Yue rejoiced after their won 3-0 against Japan.

"I have done a well job these past few days. My team, my coach, and other people around me really made me feel comforted.  With their support, I cannot just immerse myself from my defeat in the Singles because everyone is behind me giving me reasons to do a good job. If I will fail them again, then I will really feel sorry. I was still able to adjust myself. I first put away all the emotions from the Singles and prepared for the Team competition. Winning the gold medal (with the team) makes me really really happy!" Ding Ning exclaimed.

What happened to Ding Ning in the Women Singles finals is already written in the history of table tennis. The memory will not fade but Ding Ning's response to such failure will change through time.

"I was young and fearless during the Moscow World Championships. I did not feel anything but i never thought of losing the gold medal in the Women Team event. It made me felt that the table tennis that I originally loved was not the same. It was a step by step process for me to overcome all the difficulties and frustrations. In the first time I participated in the Olympics, I was able to reach the finals. Before the match, many people including myself, all wanted me to show myself in the stage. I did not expect to lose the match. I cried not because I'm a sore loser but I just revealed my true feelings. If you win, you cry. If you lose, you cry too. But if you already have that clear conscience, you can already laugh about your loss. A strong heart is really important." Ding Ning said.

After the match, a lot were still curious whether everything is okay between Ding Ning and Li Xiaoxia who was hailed as the new Olympic Women Singles champion. For Ding Ning, she admitted that there is no bad blood between them.

"Me and Li Xiaoxia are always communicating. We are a team and we have lived quite long enough in our dormitory in Beijing. There are no barriers and dissatisfaction between us." Ding Ning clarified.

Ding Ning has nothing to clarify in the first place. During the Team finals, Ding Ning and Li Xiaoxia were all smiles to each other and celebrated together. This scene is definitely hard to stage. This just strengthens the fact that despite of what happened in the Women Singles finals, the two will remain professionals as teammates in the Chinese National Team and that they are good friends as well.
