South Korea booked the last ticket to the olympic final as it stood victorious over Hong Kong that surprised in quarterfinals after beating Japan by 3:2. However, Ryu Seungmin and Co. weren't surprised and posted a 3:0 victory.
Ryu Seungmin got the first point for South Korea after beating Tang Peng in the opening match. Tang Peng won the first game by 11:7. However, Ryu reacted and got the next two games by 11:4 and 11:6. Tang Peng kept fighting and managed to level by 11:8. In the deciding game the player from Hong Kong managed to be 8:6 but Ryu leveled and sealed his victory by 11:9.
Then Joo Saehyuk swept with Jiang Tianyi by 11:3 in the first game. In the second game Tianyi got used to Joo's game but the Korean player won by 11:6 anyway. Tianyi improved his game in the third game but it was too late because Joo secured his victory by 11:8.
Oh Sang Eun and Ryu Seungmin faced Leung Chu Yan and Jiang Tianyi in the doubles match. Hong Kong's pairing won teh first game by 11:5 but Ryu and Oh leveled by 11:6. Then South Korea swept by 11:2 but Leung and Jiang had a great recovery and won the fourth game by 13:11. The Korean pair started leading by 5:1 but Hong Kong's players fought back and leveled at 9:9. Oh and Ryu didn't hesitate and secured his victory by 11:9.
The final match South Korea vs China will be on Wednesday at 3:30 PM (local time).
