The intense competition from the 2012 London Olympics has already ended and Timo Boll still doesn't have an Olympic Singles medal. He was ousted rather early against Adrian Crisan of Romania. Despite what happened, Boll still has hope for his Olympic dream in 2016. However, the German superstar also believes that this is the right time to start a family. Because of this, Boll's answer to such dilemma is to lessen his workload in the coming years, which also means lesser exposure.

Another chance for the athletes to fulfill their Olympic dreams has passed. Some were successful while some failed. Unfortunately, the German superstar Timo Boll had his share in the failures.

Timo Boll is considered to be the greatest European player. He has the skills and the confidence to pose a threat to the ever dominating Asian players, including China. In fact, he is labeled to be the strongest opponent of the Chinese Men Team.

However, despite this strength, Timo Boll still hasn't achieved an Olympic Singles medal for himself. In the recently concluded 2012 London Olympics, Timo Boll was surprisingly ousted rather early in the Round 16 by Adrian Crisan.

"Of course, I give my efforts to fight. But I'm not that kind of person who would say to myself that I failed to realize my goal, or my career is not complete, or I will be doomed. I am not like that. So that the pressure will not be that great and will not mess up on my mental condition." Timo Boll said.

Indeed, after losing the Men Singles, Timo Boll was able to adjust for the Men Team competition. Although he started a bit rough in the competition, losing in the first round, Timo Boll managed to play better. In their most critical match, against China in the semifinals, Timo Boll outshone the newly hailed Olympic champion, Zhang Jike.

The German Team may not have succeeded against China, but they still achieved the Olympic bronze medal in the Team competition.

As for the future of Timo Boll in the international scene, the 31-year old left-handed German wants to play in Rio 2016. However, he also feels that it is also the right time to start a family with his wife Rodelia. Because of this dilemma, Timo Boll decided to lessen his itinerary for the following years.

"Only when you got over the age of 30 that you realize how time flies fast." Timo Boll concluded.
