A promising rookie in the Chinese Women's Team was discovered as the second stage of their 2013 World Championships Squad Trials progressed and she is named Hu Limei, a player from the second team. Due to Guo Yue's withdrawal from the competition, Hu Limei got her precious chance to show her skills in the arena. So far, she hasn't failed on that matter yet. In fact, the new head coach of the Chinese Women's Team, Kong Linghui is very much impressed by her surprisingly powerful performance.

Sina Sports. A dark horse was born as the Chinese Women's Team's version of the 2013 World Championships Squad Trials progressed into the second stage this week in Inner Mongolia. Such dark horse is known by the name of Hu Meili.

On the opening day of the second stage of the 2013 World Championships Squad Trials, Olympic Team champion Guo Yue was announced to have withdrawn from the competition due to injury. This eventually gave Hu Limei, a player from the second team a precious chance to show her potentials in the arena.

In the opening day, Hu Limei already impressed everyone after she sealed her place in the final eight together with Zhu Yuling, Ding Ning, and Wen Jia. With this, Hu Limei was spared of the competition in the second day.

Yesterday, Hu Limei had another surprising performance after she overcame the reigning world champion and current number one in the world, Ding Ning in a stunning sweep victory of 3-0. Eventually, Hu Limei progressed into the finals against Wu Yang. With such a big chance to be in Paris, Hu Limei was not able to seize her opportunities and tasted her first defeat in the competition.

Despite failure, there was no doubt that Hu Limei has attracted everyone including the head coach Kong Linghui. "Hu Limei brought a lot of surprises in the competition. It should be said that she played extremely well as she remained unbeaten. Because of Guo Yue's injury, Hu Limei was promoted to the National Team last March 1 to replace the injured player. In the first day, she qualified for the knockout stage. Although she lost to Wu Yang, she still has a chance and I hope she will be able to continue brining surprises to everyone." Kong Linghui remarked.

Today, March 8, Kong Linghui's desire was met by Hu Limei as she became the fourth qualified player in the 2013 World Championships in Paris, defeating for the second time the reigning world champion and currently world's number one Ding Ning.
