The International Table Tennis Federation announced during March that the Japanase table manufacturer San-Ei will be the official table provider for the next Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janerio. The Japanese brand will replace the Chinese company DHS which provided the table for Beijing 2008 and London 2012. However, DHS will be also present in Rio 2016 as ball provider.

Three years left for Rio 2013, but the equipment for the competition is already selected. The Japanese company San-Ei will be the table provider. This news will probably take some fans by surprise, because DHS was the table provider of the last Olympic Games in Beijing and London. Especially when the table design of the last Olympics was praised on social networks.

However, San-Ei also has experience in big events. It has been table provider in World Championships such as Yokohama 2009 and in Japanese National Championships.

DHS won't be out of this big event, because it will be the official ball supplier. The Chinese company also has experience in this area, because it was the official ball in the World Team Championships held in Guangzhou 2008 and Dortmund 2012.

The design of the table for Rio 2016 will be released in early 2016.
