Eventually, such dramatic encounter of Ding Ning and Li Xiaoxia left people wanting for a rematch.

This year's World Championships is the next world competition after the Olympics. Ding Ning, as the reigning world champion, and Li Xiaoxia, as the reigning Olympic champion, are both situated in the upper half of the draw. If things will go as hoped for by them, then a rematch will probably take place in the semifinals.

"A lot of people might want to see us in the finals but this dream is now shattered. If possible, we will meet in the semi-finals. But currently, my core mission is to hold the my area. As for my possible encounter in the semifinals against Li Xiaoxia, going all out is just fine." Ding Ning commented.

In addition, just like other players, Ding Ning doesn't put any importance on the seeding but on beating the opponent.

"The World Championships has always been like this. In the last season, I fought against Liu Shiwen in the semifinals and Li Xiaoxia in the finals. Actually, the draw is not important. What is important is to beat your opponent." Ding Ning concluded.
