ITTF. The Doubles event of the 2013 China Open reached into its conclusion today, June 16 with the formidable tandem of Ma Long and Timo Boll being the winner in the Men's Doubles. Guo Yue and Liu Shiwen snatched the title in the women's division.
The Men's Doubles ended with two Chinese players (Ma Long and Yan An) and two Germans (Timo Boll and Dimitrij Ovtcharov) however it was not the usual partnership based on nationalities this time. Instead, they fought with a different teammate. Dimitrij Ovtcharov with Yan An and Timo Boll with Ma Long.
After surviving a challenging opening round in the competition, the seventh seeds Yan and Ovtcharov found their momentum together and fought well in the finals against the formidable pair of Timo Boll and Ma Long. They got the opening round.
However, as the match progressed, Boll and Ma snatched the momentum leaving their opponents helpless. At this point, it was difficult for Yan An and Dimitrij Ovtcharov to come back.
In four sets, Timo Boll and Ma Long sealed the match victoriously and hailed as the Men's Doubles champion, 11-13, 11-8, 11-5, 11-6.

In the women's side, the partnership of Guo Yue and Liu Shiwen proved fruitful after overcoming the top seeds in the prior round. In the finals, they swept their teammates Feng Yalan and Guo Yan in 11-6, 11-5, 13-11.
