Jiangsu Tasted Their First Win In The Super League

Even without their foreign aide Timo Boll, Jiangsu still played in the fourth round of the 2013 Chinese Super League and for the first time, the powerhouse team posted their victory. In the round, Ma Lin was the biggest contributor with two points. Even after a period of rest from the competition, leading teams like Shanghai, Ningbo and Bayi remained to have their fire burning and continued to be undefeated.  

 

CTTSL. After a short vacation, the 2013 Chinese Super League resumes its competition with their fourth round today, July 10. For the first time in this season's competition, the powerhouse Jiangsu has now posted their victory. 

Bazhou 0-3 Ningbo 

Ma Long returned from his victory in Busan with another strong performance. Although he lost a set to Bazhou's Cui Qinglei, Ma Long was successful to usher the first point for Ningbo. He scored 11-3, 7-11, 11-4, 11-4. In Busan, Ma Long and Yan An were opponents. In the competition, both are teammates. Yan An supplemented the victory of Ma Long with a sweep of 3-0 against Zhai Chao, 11-6, 11-4, 12-10. 

With a 0-2 deficit, the home team of Bazhou was in danger. However, in their last chance for recover, their pair of Cui Qinglei and Cheng Jingqi were crushed by Yan An and Lin Gaoyuan in 11-6, 11-8. 

Bayi 3-0 Sichuan 

Bayi's Zhou Yu opened the match in their fourth round with a 3-1 win over Sichuan's leader Qiu Yike. He scored 11-3, 11-8, 9-11, 12-10. After his wedding in Changchun last June 29, Wang Hao had his mini vacation from competitions. Today, he has returned into the arena and met a challenging opponent Xu Ruifeng. He was forced into the decider where experience prevailed at the end. Wang Hao won in 9-11, 11-8, 11-3, 8-11, 7-4. 

Zhou Yu returned into the arena with partner Fan Zhendong for the Doubles. Against Xu Ruifeng and Wang Jianjun, the Bayi pair gained much momentum and finished the match with 2-0, 11-8 and 11-5. At the end, Bayi survived the round as host in a convincing manner of 3-0. 

Jiangsu 3-1 Guangdong 

The powerhouse Jiangsu played in the fourth round in their own courts against Guangdong. With a strong lineup, everyone has high expectations on Jiangsu but results did not quite meet such expectations as they still haven't posted their first victory. However, in the fourth round today, without their foreign aide Timo Boll, the team found their first win. 

Ma Lin started with 3-1 against Li Yang (11-5, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5). It was followed with another win for Jiangsu as Xu Hui scored 3-1 against Hu Bin (11-8, 11-8, 3-11, 11-5). With two straight wins, Jiangsu was stopped by Li Yang and Dimitrij Ovcharov who defeated the hosting pair of Lin Chen and Cai Wei (13-11, 11-9). 

Ma Lin returned into the arena and sealed the first win in the competition. He scored 3-0 against Hu Bin (11-7, 11-9, 11-9). 

Tianjin 1-3 Shanghai 

Shanghai is one of the teams to watch out for in this season's Super League with the three-time world champion Wang Liqin and the young leader Xu Xin. However, Shanghai started the fourth round against Tianjin with a loss after Wang Liqin was defeated by Tianjin's foreign aide Chuang Chih Yuan in 2-3 (11-6, 11-8, 7-11, 8-11, 4-7). 

The hosting team of Tianjin started well but it did not set the momentum for them. Xu Xin levelled Shanghai in 1-1 after he nailed a 3-0 against Hao Shuai (11-7, 11-9, 11-5). Chuang Chih Yuan played for the Doubles with Li Ping. However, unlike his performance earlier, Chuang was not able to have a repeat. Their pair lost in 7-11, 9-11 against XuXin and Zhang Yang. 

After an opening defeat in the round, Wang Liqin redeemed himself and scored 3-0 against Hao Shuai (11-8, 11-6, 13-11). At the end, Shanghai scored their fourth win for this season.
