The intensity of the 2013 Chinese Super League has increased as the competition had their sixth round today. Ningbo's leader Ma Long was dominated by the German Timo Boll in 0-2. But the efforts of the foreigner lacked which made way for Ma Long to post a recovery. With the help of Joo Sae Hyuk, Ningbo survived the challenge. On the other hand, the other leading team Shandong had their first loss this season after Zhang Jike failed to seal the win against teenager Xu Chenhao.

 

CTTSL. The 2013 Chinese Super League progressed with the sixth round today, July 17 with much intensity. Leading names like Ma Long and Zhang Jike were challenged but only one survived while the other caused the first defeat of his team. 

Jiangsu 2-3 Ningbo 

Jiangsu welcomed the Ningbo Team to their own court for the sixth round. The 2008 Olympic champion Ma Lin was crushed by Ma Long in 8-11, 6-11, 5-11. The German Timo Boll defended Jiangsu very well after he defeated Yan An in a convincing manner in 5-11, 11-2, 11-1, 5-11, 8-6. The hosts had their advantage in the Doubles after their pair Ma Lin and Chen Qi wn over Lin Gaoyuan and Yan An in 11-8, 8-11, 7-3. 

Timo Boll returned into the arena and faced Ma Long. Surprisingly, Ma Long was dominated as Boll had absolute control over the table. However, Boll's efforts lacked in the third set which gave an opportunity for Ma Long to recover. Indeed, Ma Long scored 3-2 (9-11, 2-11, 11-7, 11-7, 7-1). 

Their match reached the decider where the foreign aide of Ningbo, Joo Sae Hyuk defeated Jiangsu's local Chen Qi in 7-11, 11-9, 7-5. 

Shandong 1-3 Bayi 

The Shandong Team had a rough round tonight. Despite playing in their own court, the guests from Bayi were brave enough to challenge the players of Shandong. At the start of the battle, Grand Slam champion Zhang Jike was already challenged but survived Zhou Yu in 3-2 (11-6, 6-11, 10-12, 11-8, 7-2). The runner up in the Japan Open, Xu Chenhao levelled Bayi in 1-1 with a 3-1 win over Zhang Chao (11-9, 11-6, 8-11, 11-4). 

Zhou Yu and Fan Zhendong partnered for the Doubles and together they defeated the hosting pair of Zhang Chao and Wu Hao 11-9, 13-11. Zhang Jike returned into the arena against Xu Chenhao. Unlike in the opening game, Zhang Jike, this time, was not able to survive the difficulty. He lost in close margins (8-11, 11-4, 10-12, 11-9, 6-8). Shandong tasted their first ever loss this season.

Tianjin 3-0 Bazhou 

After a series of defeats, the Tianjin Team finally broke the losing streak and posted an impressive result in the sixth round. Hao Shuai started with a 3-0 against Cui Qinglei in 11-3, 11-8, 11-9. Chuang Chih Yuan was challenged by Zhai Chao but eventually survived it with 3-2 (6-11, 4-11, 11-9, 11-8, 7-5). With a 2-0 advantage, Hao Shuai and Li Ping swept Zhai Chao and Cheng Jingqi with 11-9, 11-4. 

Shanghai - Sichuan 

Shanghai had the confidence in the sixth round as they play in their home court against Sichuan. Indeed, Shang Kun started off with a 3-0 against Qiu Yike in 11-8, 11-4, 11-8. It was followed by a 3-1 win by Xu Xin over Xu Ruifeng (11-6, 12-10, 11-13, 11-7).
