Spread the love for Table Tennis!

Last weekend, Zhang Jike and the rest of the Chinese National Team faced the second team for a training match involving the new table tennis ball. After nailing a sweeping victory, Zhang Jike admitted that there was a decrease in speed. However, he hesitated to go into details as the the advantages and disadvantages of the new ball. For him, those aren't important but the attitude towards accepting change.

PingPang World. The Chinese Team has always been prepared in any battle and now that the table tennis sport is welcoming a major change this year, they have started to embrace such change and trained with the new ball.

Last weekend, February 8, the Chinese second team faced the National Team in a training match which aimed their player to practice the new table tennis ball.

Among the matches was Zhang Jike versus Zhou Qihao. The Grand Slam champion scored 3-0.

Zhang Jike may have posted a victory but he was able to notice a major change in the new table tennis ball. After the match, Zhang Jike revealed that one feature of the new ball is a decrease in speed. However, he was reluctant to give more thought on the advantages and disadvantages of the change as for him, what's important is the attitude towards change.

"There will come a time that all of us will be playing the same ball and the advantages and disadvantages will just be the same. As long as the will doesn't change then that is good." Zhang Jike said.

Furthermore, after the match, Zhang Jike kept the ball they used as a souvenir.

The new plastic seamed ball will be officially used by the ITTF in all major international competitions starting July this year. This will include 8 Open Tournaments and the Grand Finals. The individual World Cups on October are also included.
