Xiamen is the place where the Chinese Team always had their Closed Training in preparation for any big competition. This year, they returned to their training base in Xiamen for the 2014 World Team Championships where they prepare for a probable strong competitor, the hosting team.

Xiamen Evening News. Germany has always been the strongest competitor of China but for the 2014 World Team Championships, they think Japan is a big threat.

Starting in 2003, the Chinese Men's Team has almost always come to Xiamen for their Closed Training in preparation for each world competition.

Liu Guoliang said that since he served the National Team as a coach, they achieve good results when they train in Xiamen. "In addition, Xiamen has always given their full support on us." The head coach said.

Germany, with Timo Boll and Dimitrij Ovtcharov, is considered a big threat for the Chinese Team. According to Liu Guoliang, Germany, Japan and South Korea are their main opponents. However, he has placed emphasis on Japan who will be the hosting team in the 2014 World Championships.

In order to cope with the challenges from the Japanese Team, China has prepared several players who can imitate the Japanese players and had them fight against their delegates in the Closed Training. This is to help their players adapt to the hosts.

The Japanese Team will be represented by Jun Mizutani, Koki Niwa, Kenta Matsudaira, Seiya Kishikawa and Masato Shiono.
