Australia left all the gold medals at home in the 2014 Oceania Cup and Championships held in Bendigo from 16th to 21st April. The competition kicked off with the team event, where Australia collected the first two gold medals.
In the men's event William Henzell and Co. beat New Zealand by 3:1. New Caledonia overcame Vanuatu in the match for the third place. In the women event Australia led by Miao Miao swept with New Zealand by 3:0. New Caledonia got the third place after defeating Vanuatu by 3:1.
In the U21 boys's event competition Australia beat New Zealand by 3:0. The third place went to Vanuatu. In the U21 girls' event Australia defeated New Caledonia by 3:1. Fiji got the third place.
In the singles event of the U21 HU Heming and Vy Bui won the title. Bui repeated success in the girls and mixed doubles with Madeline Goodsell and Dilon Chambers, respectively. In the boys' doubles HU Heming and Kane Townsend clinchled the gold medal.
In the senior competiiton Australia continued on its winning streak. David Powell and Kane Townsend beat Vanuatu's Ham Lulu and Yoshua Shing in the final, while Zhenhua Dederko and Melissa Tapper overcame their compatriots Anna Du and Miao Miao in the women's final. David Powell and Miao Miao got the first place in the mixed doubles as they stood victorious over New Zealand's Phillip Xiao and Sophie Shu in the final.
The singles event was divided into the Pacific Cup and Oceania Cup. New Caledonia with Cathy Gauthier and Yoshua Shing won the first place in the Pacific Cup, while William Henzell and Lay Jian Fang gave victory to Australia in the Oceania Cup.
Henzell overcame his compatriot Kane Townsend by 4:0 in the final. David Powell got teh third place as he defeated New Zealand's Phillip Xiao. In the women event Lay Jian Fang emerged successfully over New Zealand's Chunli Li by 4:3. The third place went to Australia's Zhenhua Dederko, who overcame her compatriot Melissa Tapper.
