Mexico and Puerto Rico won the last gold medals in the 2014 Pan American Sport Festival held in Mexico. Marcos Madrid made local crowd celebrate as he stood victorious over Ecuador's Alberto Mino in a nail-biting match, while 13-year-old Adrian Diaz overcame Mexico's Yadira Silva in a full-distance match as well.

Marcos Madrid of Mexico and Adriana Diaz of Puerto Rico were crowned champions of the 2014 Pan American Sport Festival held in Mexico. The 13-year-old Puerto Rican player silenced the home crowd as she overcame Yadira Silva in the final. Diaz suceeded by 13:11, 11:8, 6:11, 11:9, 1:11, 9:11 and 11:9. Cuba's Leisy Jimenez and Rheann Chung got the third place. 

But Marcos Madrid relived Mexican hopes in the men's final. He and Ecuador's Alberto Mino were protagonists of a great battle, but Madrid prevailed by 11:13, 12:10. 12-14, 8:11, 13:11, 11:4 and 18:16. Argentina's Gastón Alto and Brazil's Vitor Ishy got the third place.  

With these victories, Diaz and Madrid won a ticket for the 2014 Pan American Games to be held in Toronto, Canada. 

Previuosly, Adriana Diaz also succeeded in doubles. She and her older sister Melanie Diaz defeated Mexico's Mercedes Madrid and Yadira Silva by 3:0 in the final. Brazil's Bruna Alexandre/Leticia Nakada and Chile's Paulina Vega/Judith Morales won the bronze medal. 

In the men's doubles the Brazilian pair of Vitor Ishy and Humberto Manhani claimed the title after beating Guatemala's Hector Gatica and Heber Moscoso by 3:0 in the final. Argentina's Pablo Tabachnik/Gastón Alto and Costa Rica's Allan Calvo/Jeison Martinez got the third place.
