Zhang Jike pulled off a worrisome performance in the Asian Championships held in Thailand. But in the subsequent domestic competition, the Grand Slam champion tried his best to adhere with the tournament. He played in the individual events then in the team competition. However, he had to miss the finals due to injury and it left the young champion with some regrets. 

Sina Sports. Zhang Jike failed to complete the Chinese National Championships because of an injury and the Grand Slam champion was disappointed. 

Coming from a poor performance in the Asian Championships, Zhang Jike adhered to the competition in the Chinese National Championships. He played in the Singles and reached the finals before losing to his teammate Xu Xin

After that, Zhang Jike still played for Shandong in the Men’s Team event. The team managed to reach the finals as well. However, the Grand Slam champion was not in the playing lineup. He was seen in the stadium as a spectator. 

It was reported that due to a serious shoulder injury he had after the semifinals, Zhang Jike had to retire and miss the final match. Of course, was disappointed about it. 

“Actually at that time, it was already serious. Before the injury, I didn’t have a systematic training and I just played in few games. Although I really wanted to play in the finals, I just can’t.” Zhang Jike said.
