The 2015 Asian Championships Women’s Singles ended with an all-Chinese affair in the final match. Zhu Yuling fought against Chen Meng. In their match, Zhu Yuling immediately took control over the table. Chen Meng made her presence felt in the third set but eventually had to withdraw from the match due to injury. Zhu Yuling was eventually crowned as the champion.  

ITTF. The Women’s Singles event ended their competition today and Zhu Yuling was decided as the winner after Chen Meng withdrew in the middle of the final match. 

The top seed Ding Ning was not able to play in the competition after she retired after the Team event. The second highest-ranking player was Liu Shiwen but last night, she lost to a familiar opponent, Feng Tianwei once again. 

Earlier this day, Chen Meng avenged her teammate after she swept Feng Tianwei in 11-9, 11-7, 12-10, 11-3. In the upper half of the draw, Zhu Yuling defeated her teammate Mu Zi in 11-7, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 11-5. 

Eventually, the Women’s Singles boiled down to Zhu Yuling and Chen Meng in the finals. 

Their match started strong with a little extension in the opening set. It was Zhu Yuling who took the opening set. She maintained her control into the next stage, giving herself a lead of 2-0 (12-10, 11-8). Chen Meng fought in the third set better and earned her a point in the scoreboard (11-6). 

However, as she fought well, Chen Meng got injured which temporarily stopped the game. After careful consideration, the game ended in favour of Zhu Yuling. 

Zhu Yuling is the Women’s Singles champion.
