Yuya Oshima didn't win the title at the 2015 China Open but he was the focus of attention in the last days. The Japanese player defeated players such as Dimitrij Ovtcharov and Chuang Chih-Yuan and was close to beat Ma Long in semifinals. Despite his amazing performance, Oshima confessed that he noticed the gap between him and the Chinese player.

ITTF. Yuya Oshima won't forget the 2015 China Open so easily. The Japanese player displayed an incredible performance and eliminated top players. In the round of 32, Oshima stood victorious over Dimitrij Ovtcharov by 4-3. In the next round he defeated Koki Niwa by 4-3.

In quarterfinals he overcame Chuang Chih-Yuan by 4-3 but he was stopped in semifinals. Oshima faced defeat against Ma Long but it wasn't a crushing defeat as many expected. The Japanese player fought back from 0-2 to leveled the score at 3-3. He managed to beat 2-6 up in the deciding game but Ma Long showed his supremacy and sealed his victory.

After the match, Oshima praised his opponent and talked about the 7th game: "I really respect Ma Long, and after this match I clearly see the gap between me and him. When I was leading 6:2 in the final game, I could feel that his skills were more proficient than mine, as I started to make mistakes."

Despite that, the Japanese player said that he felt more confidence now: "I will keep practicing and learn more from him. Also, my confidence grows after playing in China Open and beating many good players."
