Werner Schlager will be back to the big scene. The former world champion will make his comeback to World Championships in Kuala Lumpur. Schlager will replace Daniel Habesohn, who got the flu and won't be able to recover on time.

A legend comes back to where he belongs. The Austrian Table Tennis Federation announced that Werner Schlager will be part of the Austrian team that will compete at the 2016 World Team Championships to be held from 28th February to 6th March in Kuala Lumpur, Malasya.

The 2003 world champion will replace Daniel Habesohn, who got the flu and won't be able to recover on time for the tournament. The last world championships for Schlager was Paris 2013, but the Austrian player has been training during the last months. Schlager said that he is training again as his son began to go to school in September.

Besides, he was also training for the ITTF Legends Tour, so he is in good shape to face the World Team Championships.

Werner Schlager will be in Kuala Lumpur with Stefan Fegerl, Robert Gardos, Chen Weixing and Dominik Habesohn.
