Semifinalists of the 2016 Kuwait Open have been decided. The first semifinal will be a Chinese-Japanese duel between Li Xiaoxia and Kasumi Ishikawa. The second semifinals will be a clash between Feng Tianwei and Ding Ning. 

Japan and Singapore will challenge China in semifinals of the 2016 Kuwait Open. Kasumi Ishikawa reached semifinals after beating Chinese-Taipei's Cheng I-Ching by 11-9, 7-11, 11-9, 11-6, 7-11 and 11-6 in quarterfinals. The Japanese star will face Li Xiaoxia in semifinals tomorrow. To be in the best four, Li Xiaoxia overcame top seed Liu Shiwen by 11-5, 11-9, 11-6 and 11-6. 

In the second semifinals Feng Tianwei will meet Ding Ning. The Singaporean player eliminated Zhu Yuling by 11-9, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9 and 11-7 in quarterfinals. Ding Ning defeated Germany's Han Ying by 11-5, 11-6, 11-9 and 11-7. In the previous match, the world champion overcame Mima Ito by 15-13, 12-10, 11-6, 11-13 and 11-5. 

Ai Fukuhara was also on duty but she was eliminated by Chen I-Ching in the second round.
