Tie Yana is the only non-Chinese player in semifinals of the 2016 Qatar Open. The player of Hong Kong emerged successfully over France's Liu Xue in quarterfinals and will face Ding Ning tomorrow. Liu Shiwen and Zhu Yuling will clash in the first semifinal. 

Tie Yana will wave the flag for Hong Kong in semifinals of the 2016 Qatar Open. Yana is the only non-Chinese player in the penultimate stage. She reached semifinals after beating France's Li Xue by 8-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-7 and 11-5. In semifinals she will meet Ding Ning, who defeated Germany's Hang Ying by 11-5, 11-4, 11-6 and 11-4. 

In the first semifinal Liu Shiwen will face Zhu Yuling. Liu overcame Petrissa Solja by 12-10, 11-2, 11-4 and 13-11 in quarterfinals. It's important to highlight that the German player progressed to quarterfinals after eliminating Feng Tianwei by 4-2. 

Zhu Yuling, world semifinalist, booked a place in semifinals as she stood victorious over China-Taipei's Chen Szu-Yu by 11-6, 11-8, 11-2 and 11-6.
