Kanak Jha of the United States was the last male player to get a ticket to Rio 2016 at the North American Qualification Tournament. The 15-year-old player defeated his compatriot Timothy Wang in the deciding match. Yijun Feng of United States and Eugene Wang of Canada qualified in the previous days. 

Kanak Jha of United States was the last male player to book a place at the Olympic Games Rio 2016. The American player emerged successfully over his teammate Timothy Wang by 11-5, 11-6, 11-7 and 11-9 in the deciding match. 

The NBC Olympics highlighted that Jha is the first American athlete born in the 2000's to qualify to Rio 2016. 

In the first day of competition Yijun Feng of USA was the first North American to get a ticket to the Olympics. He overcame USA's Sharon Alguetti by 11-4, 11-7, 11-7 and 11-3. 

In the second day Eugene Wang of Canada qualified after beating his teammate Pierre-Luc Theriault by 11-6, 11-4, 11-3 and 11-6.
