European players waved the flag in America. Antoine Hachard of France and Rachel Moret of Switzerland emerged champions at the 2016 Chile Open. The French player clinched the title as he stood victorious over Argentina's Gaston Alto by 11-5, 5-11, 11-3, 11-6, 8-11, 7-11 and 11-7. To reach the final, Hachard overcame Gustavo Gomez of Chile by 4-11, 12-10, 11-9, 11-5 and 11-3. In the second semifinal Alto overcame France's Romain Ruiz by 8-11, 11-5, 11-7, 12-10 and 11-5.

Previously, Hachard and Romain Ruiz overcame Argentina's pair of Gaston Alto and Pablo Tabacknik by 11-7, 11-6 and 11-6 in the doubles final.

In women's singles Rachel Moret claimed the title. The player from Switzerland stood victorious over Uruguay's Maria Pia Lorenzotti by 11-4, 11-8, 11-8 and 11-7. In semifinal Moret overcame Cuba's Idalys Lovet by 11-4, 11-2, 13-11 and 11-9. In the second semifinal Lorenzotti defeated Cuba's Lisi Castillo by 9-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-8 and 11-7.
