Marcos Freitas was eliminated from the 2016 Polish Open. The Portuguese player was defeated by Bastian Steger in quarterfinals. Dimtrij Ovtcharov, Jun Mizutani and Kenji Matsudaira reached semifinals. 


Marcos Freitas was one of the biggest victim at the Polish Open. The Portuguese player was eliminated by Germany's Bastian Steger by 9-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-5, 9-11 and 6-11. In semifinals Steger will meet Dimitrij Ovtcharov. Ovtcharov stood victorious over Japan's Kohei Sambe in quarterfinals. 

In the second semifinal Maharu Yoshimura will meet Jun Mizutani. Yoshimura reached the penultimate stage after beating Japan's Kenji Matsudaira by 11-9, 12-14, 11-6, 11-9, 9-11 and 11-9. Mizutani overcame his teammate Taku Takakiwa by 11-5, 11-8, 9-11, 11-3 and 11-8.
