Fakel Gazproma Orenburg won't defend the title at the 2015-16 European Champions League. The Russian club won in the second leg match but it wasn't enough to beat AS Pontoise-Cergy. The French club will meet Eslovs Ai Bordtennis. 


The 2015-16 European Champions League will have a new winner this year. Fakel Gazproma Orenburg was eliminated by Pontoise-Cergy in semifinals. In the first leg match, the French club emerged successfully by 3-1. 

In the second leg match Marcos Freitas & Co. lost to 2-3 but that was enough to reach the finals. Dimitrij Ovtcharov overcame Kristian Karlsson by 11-5, 11-8 and 12-10. In the second match Freitas beat Vladimir Samsonov by 14-12, 11-7, 3-11 and 11-6. In the third match Flore overcame Alexey Smirnov by 7-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-7 and 11-8. 

With Flore's win, Pontoise-Cergy booked a place in the final. 

Freitas & Co. will meet Eslovs in the final. Eslovs fell by 2-3 in the first leg match but then Swedish club recovered and won against Olimpia Unia Grudziadz by 3-1.
